Top Ten Tuesday: 2021 Releases I was Excited to Read But Didn't Get To (18 January 2022)
Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. This week's topic is 2021 releases I was excited to read but didn't get to. Not quite 10 this week, but I didn't fully get back into reading until partway through the year.
I had a bit of a shock when Empire of the Vampire turned up and I saw how chunky it was. I can see why lots of people didn't get round to it. Once I decided to tackle it, I did enjoy it, though it could have been shorter!
I usually love Jodi Picoult books, but the latest one is one I'm probably going to steer clear of for a while, fiction is my escape from the pandemic, don't want to read about it there too! My TTT: https://jjbookblog.wordpress.com/2022/01/18/top-ten-tuesday-351/
I read the Jodi Picoult book, but didn't enjoy it very much -- just much too soon for a book so heavily about COVID. I did really like Under the Whispering Door!
Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and The Bookish . This week's topic is the top ten characters you'd like to check in with. I really struggled with this one, my brain just went blank and I couldn't really think of anyone besides pretty obvious choices.
Book Beginnings is a meme hosted every Friday by Rose City Reader where you share the first sentence (or so) of the book you are reading, along with your initial thoughts about the sentence, impressions of the book, or anything else the opener inspires. Please remember to include the title of the book and the author’s name.

The Library is one I'm hoping to finally read this year. It looks like a very fun book. :)
