My Expanding Bookshelf

I'm quite happy with my reading for February. I didn't quite read what I planned to as I decided to join the FairyLoot readalongs rather than read my actual TBR, but I'm more than happy about that. At least I'm reading!

 So I've had an okay reading month in January. I've been a bit slow at reading but I've at least been reading and getting through a few books.

So December was a bit of a slow month. I had a great start to the month, but then it just petered out.

So after my fantastic reading month in March, I definitely slowed down a lot in April. I was almost in a slump I think so I'm still pretty happy with how much I did read.

I have had an absolutely outstanding reading month. I'm so surprised by the sheer number of books I managed to read! The blog, on the other hand, was severely neglected during the second half of the month

I have had another brilliant reading month. I'm so happy with how much I was able to read considering it was the shortest month! The blog on the other hand, I still wish I had had the time to do more...

I have had a fantastic month reading-wise. I really surprised myself with how much I actually read. The blog on the other hand has suffered slightly so hopefully I'll find a better balance in February...

And now it's 2022! Where did the past year go! I've not had a great reading month. It took me exactly two weeks to read one book. That rarely happens to me!

I can't believe it's the end of November already! I've had a fairly successful reading month, although it did take me longer than expected to read a few of my picks, so I'm slightly gutted I didn't read slightly more.

August has been another busy month! Everything seems to come at once. Firstly, it was my birthday (I turned 23!! when the bloody hell did that happen) and, for once, people actually listened to me when I said I like books. I got 13  books so far via birthday gifts, Waterstones vouchers and birthday money. I say so far as I still have some money left and I'm buying slowly i.e. one book at a time so that there's less chance of my parents noticing the large increase in books appearing. I also had a few nights out with my cousins and cousins-who-aren't-technically-cousins and it was awesome having a catch-up as we don't really see each other apart from at family gatherings so it was nice being able to "let go" without all the "adults" around (because I don't care how old I turned on my birthday I'm still not an adult). And then for the best news of the month... *drum roll*... I GOT A JOB! I'm so excited! Such a weird feeling being able to...

July has been a very busy month. The very first weekend I had both my brother's birthday and I went to see Madness. It was amazing apart from the drunk old woman dressed like she was a teenager and constantly banging into everyone around her. I've also been quite ill recently and this put a pause on my blogging for a week or so. I'm still not feeling 100% but there's really no choice but to get on with things seeing as my doctor can't figure it out. I also spent 2 weeks alone in the office this month when my boss went on holiday. This was pretty boring as I only had a handful of calls and emails and nothing to do. I did manage to get a couple of posts set up though. You may have noticed that I have redesigned my blog this month too. I'm not quite happy with it yet - I want to do something with the header but I'm not too sure what. Lastly, I finally set up a Twitter account for the blog. I'm still getting the hang of it but at least I'm getting ther...

Wow! I can't believe it's July already! June just flew past! It was a rather busy June this year though. Firstly, my parents went away to the Isle of Man TT and so left me to keep my younger brother alive. That took a hell of a lot of time! It must of been because I was actually working all day then going home to cook and make sure he was actually eating healthily. Then I took part in the Cancer Research Race for Life Pretty Muddy. As you could imagine I ended up filthy (see picture below). But it was so much fun and I can't wait to do it next year! Then, as I work at a University, I got to attend Graduation. A whole year since I graduated from the same University! It was so weird being a guest this year and I kept thinking that I should have had a robe on! But it was a great day and there was free prosecco and strawberry tarts. Because of my busyness, June hasn't been that great a month for reading, I only read 5 books and I'm kinda disappointed. May was a great month for reading, I read 9 books which I am very happy about. This has taken my total to 24  books so far this year. My favourite book this month was Wallbanger by Alice Clayton. I have not read anything so funny in a long, long time. My TBR is sitting at 251  books. I had a clear out and got rid of a good few books that I will most likely never read. I don't even know why I put them there in the first place. Apart from working both my jobs, I didn't really have much on. Although I did go to a friend's 18th and I didn't no anyone apart from her (and her mum). I ended up sitting next to a bunch of her other friends and I have never felt older in my life - they were all in school and here's me out of university for a year. I also got my butt into gear and started going to the gym with my sister-in-law.
