The first challenge I will be participating in is the 2016 Bookish Resolutions Challenge, hosted by Laura @ trips down imagination lane and Michelle @ Because Reading. The challenge runs from 1st January 2017 to 31st December 2017 and you can sign up here before 1st March 2017.
My 2017 resolutions are:

- April - 75% (I don't even remember requesting a lot...)
- Reach a Goodreads goal of 75 books
- January - 9
- February - 15
- March - 20
- April - 22 (Definitely a rubbish month for reading)
- Read 30 physical books I own
- January - 1
- February - 3
- March - 6
- April - 8 (This one isn't looking too bad though)
- Read 10 Classics
- January - 0
- February - 0
- March - 1
- April - 1 (Yep, need to get my finger out)
- Reread 5 books
- January - 0
- February - 1
- March - 2
- April - 2 (Still happy with this one)
- Get my TBR under 400 books (starting point of 432 books)
- January - 426
- February - 415
- March - 413
- April - 412 (And this one's still going well too)
Blogging Goals
- Keep Review List page up to date
- January - Yep
- February - Yep
- March - I think I'm a little behind with this
- April - To be honest, I've no idea...
- Comment on 12 blogs per month (excluding memes)
- January - 15
- February - 12
- March - 8
- April - 1 (It hasn't been a great month for blogging at all)
- Blog ahead 6 weeks
- January - 2 weeks
- February - 0 weeks
- March - 0 weeks
- April - 0 weeks (I started the year off so well too!)
Personal Goals
- Get my own place
- January - December - I'm actually going to keep this secret until I know something is actually happening. I don't want to jinx anything.
- Lose half a stone
- January - lost 2 1/2 lb so far!
- February - gained 2 1/2 lb... well that sucks! Back to where I started already!
- March - maintained weight which kind of sucks when I'm making an effort to lose :(
- April - Still making an effort and still maintaining weight :(
This year I'm aiming for level 1 so 12 books and 1 book a month. These are the books I plan to read over the year:
- January - Odd and the Frost Giants, Neil Gaiman
- February - Quidditch Through the Ages, J.K. Rowling
- March - The Tales of Beedle the Bard, J.K. Rowling
- April - Status Update, Annabeth Albert (failed - didn't even start)
It's tough to keep up to challenges but at the same time, it's a good motivational tool. I can only stick to my Goodreads Reading Challenge, unfortunately. Anything else would be asking for trouble.
ReplyDeleteGood luck!
It's definitely tough keeping up with them and it definitely doesn't help when you hit a combined blogging and reading slump. I always feel like I want to do more than the Goodreads Challenge though, just to challenge myself a bit.
