Top Ten Tuesday: Reasons Why I Love Reading

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. This week's topic is ten reasons why I love reading

1. It's an escape.

2. It's relaxing and my "me time".

3. It's always an adventure.

4. It's a cheaper way to travel the world and learn about different cultures.

5. I'm always learning and improving my knowledge.

6. My favourite books remind me of specific times in my life.

7. It's a great way to use time when waiting for something (like a doctor's appointment or a bus)

8. I love discovering new stories.

9. I love being able to rave about a fantastic book.

10. It's a portable hobby - I can always store a book in my handbag.

  5. I love #10! I can't really transport the trappings of my other hobbies. It's so nice that I can have a book along wherever I go. Although I don't like reading on my phone, I love that I always have my Kindle app available.

    Happy TTT!

    1. Thanks! I actually struggled to think of a final reason and it wasn't until I was packing my bag for the day that I realised it was a valid reason.

  9. I agree with all of these. I love travelling but it is very expensive and books are much cheaper. They've also allowed me to travel in the past year when it's not been possible to physically do so.

    1. That's brilliant that reading allowed you to travel over the last year. Unfortunately, lockdown just didn't get me in the mood for reading and that disappoints me a bit.

  12. You are so right, books do trigger our memories. I have very clear memories of reading specific books when I was a kid; and when I see the cover it takes me right back!

    1. Exactly, sometimes I just need to hear or read a sentence and I'm transported right back to my childhood.

Feature and Follow (29 May)

The Feature & Follow is hosted by TWO hosts, Parajunkee of  Parajunkee’s View  and Alison of  Alison Can Read . Each host will have their own Feature Blog and this way it’ll allow us to show off more new blogs! I'm one of the featured blogs this week! Along with Amanda of  The Darling Bookworm . This week’s Question: How many books have you got on your TBR list? I recently had a bit of a cull of my TBR list so now it is sitting at 269. I'm trying my hardest to get it below 200 by the end of the year but I really don't see it happening. I'd currently be happy if I managed to get it below 225. However, I did recently have a look through my TBR on Goodreads and deleted a few books that I don't think I will actually ever read - I'm not even to sure how they got there anyway.
