I used to use my local library all the time when I was in school. Source I even spent every lunchtime in my school's library. My friends and I were pupil librarians and we practically had the run of the whole library. And then, when I started University, the only library I had time for was the University library. And that wasn't an enjoyable experience. However, last summer I started going to my local library again. (I then had to stop again when I got my job.) And unfortunately, I was pretty disappointed. Source The availability sucks. I can deal with books I want that are already out on loan. It's the complete lack of decent books the library has on its system that gets to me. All those months I went to the library last year and I never left with a book that was already on my TBR. I walked around that place looking at my Goodreads trying to find any book on that list. And I couldn't find any at all (except for the Classics). To be honest, I ...
Dave Grohl is an author now, so he totally counts!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you agree haha!
DeleteI'd love to meet Dave Grohl too. And Ali Hazlewood.
ReplyDeleteGlad I'm not the only one!
DeleteAshley Herring Blake made my list as well, Here is my post-https://paigesofnovels.com/2023/03/07/top-ten-tuesday-bookish-people-i-want-to-meet/.
ReplyDeleteAww I'm glad. I've only read Delilah Green so far but I have a feeling that she's going to be a favourite.
DeleteI've been lucky enough to meet VE Schwab a few times and she is really lovely!
ReplyDeleteMy TTT: https://jjbookblog.wordpress.com/2023/03/07/top-ten-tuesday-410/
Aww! I'm so jealous and glad that she is lovely in person too!
DeleteFingers crossed!
ReplyDeleteSounds like I have to read the Grohl book. Does he talk much of his Nirvana days?
ReplyDeleteHe does cover them a bit, but I don't think it's as much as a lot of people expected.
DeleteI haven't heard of most of these authors, but I'm sure they're all great. I hope you get the chance to meet at least some of them!
ReplyDeleteHappy TTT!
VE Schwab has shown up on a couple lists and if my brain had been working, she'd have been on mine. Wouldn't it be cool to just run into them at a coffee shop and chat - no nerves or expectations.....

I've noticed she's been a popular one this week. I think I'd be too worried about annoying them to chat to them if I ran into them haha
