Tim Mason was The Boy Most Likely To find the drinks cabinet blindfolded, need a liver transplant, and drive his car into a house.
Alice Garrett was The Girl Most Likely To... well, not date her little brother's baggage-burdened best friend for starters.
For Tim, it wouldn't be smart to fall for Alice. For Alice, nothing could be scarier than falling for Tim. But Tim has never been known for making the smart choice, and Alice is starting to wonder if the "smart" choice is always the right one. When these two crash into each other, they crash hard...

The Boy Most Likely To is a wonderful contemporary romance that I just couldn't put down. It's sort of a sequel to My Life Next Door, though the main characters are different so it can potentially be read as a standalone. It does start right from where My Life Next Door left off, though.

If you've read My Life Next Door you'll already know the characters pretty well when it comes to The Boy Most Likely To. I just loved Tim even more than I did before. He's just so determined to turn his life around and he really steps up. Even when he is completely blindsided by a major twist around 30% into the story (I will not give this away!).

Alice was just fantastic. I just loved that although she acts so tough and sure of herself, she really does have confidence issues. It makes her more relatable. I also loved that she cares so much about Tim that she refuses to take any sh*t from him. The way Alice takes control of the family whilst her dad recovers is also extremely admirable and shows just how tight-knit the Garretts are. I do not envy her task at all, though.

I loved revisiting all the secondary characters too. George and Patsy are just so adorable. And Patsy's obsession with Tim is just so cute! Especially when she gets jealous of Alice. I just wish there was a bit more of Sam and Jase in the story, but then again, their story has already been told.

The Boy Most Likely To is told via the alternating first-person perspectives of Tim and Alice. I did like this, however, it was hard to judge when there was a perspective change as often there was no warning. It was still nice to get inside their heads, though. I did find their story a bit predictable. I had guessed the plot twist near the beginning (there are clues) and I was bang on. However, the plot twist near the end was just heartbreaking - it could have gone either way. The ending is really just so bittersweet.

I did find the pace of The Boy Most Likely To a bit slow sometimes. At 496 pages, it's a very long book for a contemporary and I sort of felt that a lot of it was just filler. However, I was hooked all the same and could not put it down.

The Boy Most Likely To is a fantastic read and I can't believe I waited so long after reading My Life Next Door to read this. I definitely recommend these books to fans of Contemporary YA and I will definitely be keeping my eye out for more by Huntley Fitzpatrick. I want more Garrett family!

  1. Wow, almost 500 pages is a pretty huge book for a contemporary, but this one sounds awesome! I'm glad you enjoyed it :D Marvelous review!

  2. I read this last year and I enjoyed it. I could never fully get behind the ship of Alice and Tim but I liked both of the characters individually and loved Tim's whole story. I loved seeing his growth as a person, especially when he was one of my favourites in the last book. Seeing him develop was really great as he had a lot going on!

    1. Tim's growth is just brilliant! He was definitely one of my favourites in the first book too and he's just a completely different person (for the better) by the end of this! Especially with everything he had against him too.

The Feature & Follow is hosted by TWO hosts, Parajunkee of  Parajunkee’s View  and Alison of  Alison Can Read . Each host will have their own Feature Blog and this way it’ll allow us to show off more new blogs! I'm one of the featured blogs this week! Along with Amanda of  The Darling Bookworm . This week’s Question: How many books have you got on your TBR list? I recently had a bit of a cull of my TBR list so now it is sitting at 269. I'm trying my hardest to get it below 200 by the end of the year but I really don't see it happening. I'd currently be happy if I managed to get it below 225. However, I did recently have a look through my TBR on Goodreads and deleted a few books that I don't think I will actually ever read - I'm not even to sure how they got there anyway.
