2022 Reading Goals

So with the start of 2022 on us, I've decided to set myself a few reading goals. I'm not putting too much pressure on myself as that will just suck the fun right out of reading, so instead these are more like aims. So this year I'm aiming to...

  • Read 52 books - One a week so I think I should manage this just fine
  • Try to read at least one chapter a day - This is definitely more of an aim and I'm definitely not going to be too hard on myself if I don't manage it.
  • Focus on finishing (or catching up on) the following series/duologies, rather than start new ones:
    • Flawed, Cecelia Ahern (re-read the first and read the second)
    • Red Queen, Victoria Aveyard (re-read the first then read the rest)
    • PS I Love You, Cecelia Ahern (re-read the first and read the second)
    • ACOTAR, Sarah J Maas (re-read the first then read the rest)
    • The Bill Hodges Trilogy, Stephen King (read the 2nd and 3rd)
    • Jurassic Park, Michael Crichton (re-read the first and read the second)
    • To Kill a Mockingbird, Harper Lee (re-read the first and read the second)
    • The Lorien Legacies, Pittacus Lore (I've read the first 2 recently)
    • Sookie Stackhouse, Charlaine Harris (re-read the first 10 then read the last few)
    • The Hunger Games, Suzanne Collins (re-read the whole series)
    • Percy Jackson, Rick Riordan (I've read the first 3 recently)
    • His Dark Materials, Philip Pullman (re-read the whole series)
  • Don't buy more books than I read each month - I've set up a spread in my reading journal where I will (attempt) to only buy a book if I have read another book.
  • Read books in a timely manner after I haul them - I'm going to keep my most recent purchases on my TBR cart so that I can easily see the books I have recently bought and pick for my monthly TBR.

  1. What great reading goals. I like the don't buy a book until you've read a book. I need to do that also.

    1. So far it's not going great... I've already bought more than I've read, but I'm trying to rein it in a bit for the rest of the month to catch up with reading.

Feature and Follow (29 May)

The Feature & Follow is hosted by TWO hosts, Parajunkee of  Parajunkee’s View  and Alison of  Alison Can Read . Each host will have their own Feature Blog and this way it’ll allow us to show off more new blogs! I'm one of the featured blogs this week! Along with Amanda of  The Darling Bookworm . This week’s Question: How many books have you got on your TBR list? I recently had a bit of a cull of my TBR list so now it is sitting at 269. I'm trying my hardest to get it below 200 by the end of the year but I really don't see it happening. I'd currently be happy if I managed to get it below 225. However, I did recently have a look through my TBR on Goodreads and deleted a few books that I don't think I will actually ever read - I'm not even to sure how they got there anyway.
