The Sunday Post (23 October)

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimberly of Caffeinated Book Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news. A post to recap the past week on your blog and showcase books and things we have received. Share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.

This week the temperate has definitely gone down! We actually had to put the heater on and get our cosy blankets out at work. I'm just waiting on the day where I've got to wear my scarf, cosy socks and fingerless gloves in the office now. Winter is definitely on its way.

On Friday, it was my favourite day of the month at work - Cake Day! Basically, we sat around the meeting room, ate cake and gossiped for an hour. My cake of choice this month was a fudge doughnut and it was amazing!

Saturday turned into quite a sad night for my town. A derelict primary school went up in flames and burned to the ground. The biggest fire my town has seen in 30 years. It really was a beautiful building and it's such a shame. So many people I know attended the school before it's closure 8 years ago and they must have so many memories of their time there. I mean there's always some sort of attachment to your old schools, isn't there?

  1. We finally got a taste of fall weather. No heat on but I did wear socks and long pants. LOL So sorry about the school. I know what you mean about memories. I drive by where my old house stood and it's now just an empty lot. I wonder if the memories echo? Gotta check out Unnatural Deeds. That's some cover!

    1. That's lucky that you don't have the heating on! We've had it on at home for a while now, but work has only recently got cold. Aww! That is such a shame about your old house too! Unnatural Deeds is actually pretty good - at this point I'm definitely recommending it.

  2. I'm sorry to hear about your school! I have a ton of nostalgia for the schools I went to, especially elementary since they tore it down and built houses there, so I feel for everyone who is sad about the loss. And the temps definitely went down here too, this week is started really feeling like fall!

Hope your reads are all good, Sleepy Hollow is perfect for this time of year!

    1. Thanks, it's a real shame because the building was listed so it couldn't have been demolished before the fire. I'm not too sure how I feel about Sleepy Hollow, it definitely isn't what I was expecting anyway.

    1. Yeah, luckily there were no casualties. But it did get very close to a few houses.

  4. I'm sorry about your school, I hope no one was injured. I'm still waiting for fall weather here. Texas has the cold mornings and hot afternoons. I haven't taken out winter clothes yet and I've been wanting to so bad. Cake day at work sounds really awesome and the choice of cake does too!

I've had my eye on not if I see you first and what light. I'll have to stop by to read your thoughts on them.

Thank you so much for featuring my discussion! That totally made my week.

    Have a wonderful week!

    1. Luckily there were no casualties considering the size of the fire (over 50 firefighters). I don't like the sound of cold mornings and hot afternoons! I wouldn't know what to wear each day haha! I've not started Not If I See You First or What Light yet, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

Feature and Follow (29 May)

The Feature & Follow is hosted by TWO hosts, Parajunkee of  Parajunkee’s View  and Alison of  Alison Can Read . Each host will have their own Feature Blog and this way it’ll allow us to show off more new blogs! I'm one of the featured blogs this week! Along with Amanda of  The Darling Bookworm . This week’s Question: How many books have you got on your TBR list? I recently had a bit of a cull of my TBR list so now it is sitting at 269. I'm trying my hardest to get it below 200 by the end of the year but I really don't see it happening. I'd currently be happy if I managed to get it below 225. However, I did recently have a look through my TBR on Goodreads and deleted a few books that I don't think I will actually ever read - I'm not even to sure how they got there anyway. Top Ten Tuesday: Books I'm Looking Forward to in 2017

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by  The Broke and The Bookish . This week's topic is five books I'm looking forward to in the first half of 2017. Only five because I'm rubbish at planning ahead when it come to new releases.
