Book Beginnings and The Friday 56 (27 March) plus Feature and Follow

Book Beginnings is a meme hosted every Friday by Rose City Reader where you share the first sentence (or so) of the book you are reading, along with your initial thoughts about the sentence, impressions of the book, or anything else the opener inspires.  Please remember to include the title of the book and the author’s name.

My book beginning is from The Seer by R.R. Sechi:
The Seer"Stacey Daley was an up-and-coming TV presenter who now specialised in informative documentaries, which were filmed all around the world.  It was certainly true that she was beautiful, but her appeal in front of the camera was not just based on looks."
Really not sure about this book at all judging by the opening sentences.

The Friday 56 is a meme hosted every Friday by Freda's Voice.
The Rules:
*Grab a book, any book.
*Turn to page 56 or 56% in your eReader
(If you have to improvise, that's ok.)
*Find any sentence, (or few, just don't spoil it)
*Post it.
*Add your (url) post below in Linky. Add the post url, not your blog url.
*It's that simple.

My Friday 56 is also from R.R Sechi's The Seer:
"So you think it's some kind of spiritual war going on today?" Stacey interrupted."

bloglovinGFCThis week’s Question:
Have you ever been to BEA? If not, what’s stopping you? If you have, what was your best experience there?

No, I've never been.  I just had to Google it to see what it was as I hadn't heard of it.  It sounds so cool though!  However, it would be a tad expensive for me to go to as I live on the other side of the Atlantic Ocean.  Maybe one day...

  10. The cover and the opening quote leave me a little flat but the page 56 quote makes me think the character isn't the sharpest gal.

    1. It really isn't the best book I've ever read. It's quite confusing, but it's only 120 pages so I'm sticking with it.
      Thanks for visiting.

  11. I hadn't heard of it either until this question. I live in the US so I might make it there eventually!

  12. I'd keep reading it just to find out what the story is. You mention it's a short read, so why not continue:)

Feature and Follow (29 May)

The Feature & Follow is hosted by TWO hosts, Parajunkee of  Parajunkee’s View  and Alison of  Alison Can Read . Each host will have their own Feature Blog and this way it’ll allow us to show off more new blogs! I'm one of the featured blogs this week! Along with Amanda of  The Darling Bookworm . This week’s Question: How many books have you got on your TBR list? I recently had a bit of a cull of my TBR list so now it is sitting at 269. I'm trying my hardest to get it below 200 by the end of the year but I really don't see it happening. I'd currently be happy if I managed to get it below 225. However, I did recently have a look through my TBR on Goodreads and deleted a few books that I don't think I will actually ever read - I'm not even to sure how they got there anyway.
