Top Ten Tuesday: Scottish Authors 101

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and The Bookish. This week's topic is my top ten books that would be on my syllabus if I taught Scottish authors 101 (from what I've read). Yes, I'm being patriotic this week and it's actually a really weird mix.

The Witness
The Witness - set in the Scottish Highlands
James Jauncey - from Perthshire and Edinburgh

Divided City

What have I learned from completing this list?

I really need to read more Scottish authors! I currently have Arthur Conan Doyle, Iain Banks and Irvine Welsh on my TBR, but of course I really need to read a lot more.

    1. I know! Even in Scotland you have to know where to look for Scottish authors - you can never seem to find them in a lot of shops and it's such a shame!

  2. Oooh I saw On Dublin Street on sale at my local Barnes & Noble a few weeks ago. Definitely sounds like a good read!

  5. Excellent way to own this Top Ten Tuesday Topic. Mine is not so refined however, I came at it with short stories, which I do think is different.

My TTT which isn't actually a list and shh... I have 11 short stories on my not list today.

  7. What a great topic, love the complete mix of books. And HP did make it onto my 101 even if most of them were memoirs! I even squeezed a Burns quote in!

Feature and Follow (29 May)

The Feature & Follow is hosted by TWO hosts, Parajunkee of  Parajunkee’s View  and Alison of  Alison Can Read . Each host will have their own Feature Blog and this way it’ll allow us to show off more new blogs! I'm one of the featured blogs this week! Along with Amanda of  The Darling Bookworm . This week’s Question: How many books have you got on your TBR list? I recently had a bit of a cull of my TBR list so now it is sitting at 269. I'm trying my hardest to get it below 200 by the end of the year but I really don't see it happening. I'd currently be happy if I managed to get it below 225. However, I did recently have a look through my TBR on Goodreads and deleted a few books that I don't think I will actually ever read - I'm not even to sure how they got there anyway.
