Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and The Bookish. This week's topic is the top ten all time favourite authors.
Nicholas Sparks
I own 4 of his books and have only read 2 of them. But I loved them so much!
Jodi Picoult
As above, I only own 5 of her books but I have read them. I will buy any of her books if I see them on a good deal.
J.R.R. Tolkien
I just love the world he created.
William Goldman
He is the author of my favourite - The Princess Bride.
Michael Crichton
I've only read Jurassic Park so far but also own The Lost World. I'm not too interested in his other books, I may read them someday. But dinosaurs! I may have a slight obsession with them...
David Attenborough
Okay so not an author. But he does have books! I love David Attenborough and would happily adopt him as a third granda.
I love Rowling! And ONE DAY I will read William Goldman's book because gawwwsh, The Princess Bride is still one of my favourite movies ever. XD I feel like a bit of a cheater loving the movie without having read the book. ;-)
ReplyDeleteHere's my TTT!
The Princess Bride is one of my favourite movies too and it took me years to read the book but I'm so glad I did. It is also one of my favourite books now.
DeleteThanks for visiting :)
I forgot JK Rowling! But I guess it's ok since my list was YA authors only. She's technically not YA, but somehow more than just YA. Great list!
ReplyDeleteMichelle @ Michelle's Minions
Thanks! I totally understand what you mean by JK Rowling being more that just YA. I think a lot of people are also overlooking her just now just because she is so popular amongst everyone on these lists.
DeleteDracula! Hope you're loving it.
ReplyDeleteYep, enjoying it so far. So fingers crossed.
DeleteOf all the vampire books I have read I don't think I ever sat down and read the original vampire tale! Here is my tt: http://www.readinggrrl.com/2015/04/teaser-tuesday.html
ReplyDeleteI know, there's so many vampire books now that you kind of forget what started it all.
DeleteI have never actually read Dracula! Thanks for reminding me to pick up a classic! My TT: http://candidcover.net/2015/04/21/teaser-tuesdays-1/
ReplyDeleteI think with all the recent vampire books it has become quite easy for us to overlook it, even though it is the one that started it all!
DeleteI have seen The Princess Bride so many times I can recite the entire movie yet somehow I've never read the book. So embarrassing! I have read one Jodi Piccoult (it was one about brittle bone disease) and while I had some issues with it it was one of the most readable books I've come across. Even when I wanted to throw it at the wall I couldn't put it down long enough to do so!
ReplyDeleteOh my god! You should read The Princess Bride! It's so good! Like you I had watched the film first (thanks to my granny recording it off the TV) and loved it from the start.
DeleteI haven't read that Jodi Picoult one yet. I know exactly what you mean by wanting to throw them at the wall sometimes though but being unable to stop reading!
J.K.Rowling and J.R.R.Tolkien <333 I've read some books by Nicholas Sparks (A Walk to Remember, Dear John and At First Sight, I believe) and I just found them so damn depressing that I just can't lol and I've also read Nineteen Minutes by Jodi Picoult and highly enjoyed it :)
ReplyDeleteYeah, I understand that Nicholas Sparks isn't for everyone, some characters are a bit annoying and the plots are quite sad.
DeleteI haven't read Nineteen Minutes but probably at some point.
I loved Dracula. Good teaser. And your top ten is interesting too. I'm not doing the top ten currently, but My Teaser is from Dark Heir by Faith Hunter
ReplyDeleteThanks, really enjoying Dracula so far!
DeleteLots of people have listed JK Rowling! Thanks for visiting my blog!
ReplyDeleteYeah, it's hard not to include her in almost everything these days.
DeleteNice teaser and great picks for the authors!
