The Sunday Post (27 September)

Sunday Post
The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimberly of Caffeinated Book Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news. A post to recap the past week on your blog and showcase books and things we have received. Share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.

This week's Sunday post will cover two weeks as next weekend I will be in Dublin so won't have much time to blog. On that note, does anyone know of any nice bookshops that I may come across?

It's been quite a busy week in real life! On Monday, I had a catch up with an old colleague and it was great hearing all the gossip. Then on Tuesday, I went to a charity bingo tea organised by my old work. It was fun but there was a cute owl doorstop that I really wanted and didn't win. Instead, I got a vase and a reed diffuser which was given to my mum. And apart from that I've mainly been going around visiting family and organising my new e-reader (see book haul).

I'd also like to say that I will get around to replying to all comments as soon as possible. I WILL reply to all!

Last Week on the Blog:

Thursday - A-Z Bookish Survey

This Week on the Blog:

Monday - Book Review: Rusty Nailed (Cocktail #2), Alice Clayton
Tuesday - Top Ten Tuesday: Ten books to read if you like this super popular author
Wednesday: Monthly Summary
Thursday - ARC Review: Pretending to Dance, Diane Chamberlain
Friday - Feature and Follow: Pick three book characters... Kiss? Marry? Kill?

The following week I will be taking a break from blogging. Mainly as I will be in Dublin so won't be able to blog anyway and also to try to catch up and blog ahead a bit once I get home.

Around the Blogosphere:

Beth @ The Quiet People asks is there such a thing as too much content?
Jen @ The Bookavid discusses why CAPTCHA ruins your blog.
Donna @ Girl Who Reads discusses the anatomy of a review.
Cheryl @ I Heart Fictional People calculated how many years it will take to read her TBR.

What I Read Last Week:

Zilch... it's been a really bad week for reading :(

What I Plan to Read in the Next 2 Weeks:

Pretending to DanceThe Heir (The Selection, #4)Lost Princess (Kingdom of Cymmera, #2)

Hopefully, I will read more (especially during the flight to Ireland) but I'm just not sure how busy I'm going to be.

Book Haul:

Too many to list! I received a family friend's old e-reader, as they bought a new one, with lots of books loaded onto it already. Everything from Meg Cabot to J.R.R. Tolkien to Leo Tolstoy. This has taken me 2 nights to organise the books how I want them.

  1. I've seen Pretending to Dance around quite a lot recently. It sounds intriguing, a bit like the TV show Revenge perhaps! I hope you enjoy it.

    1. Pretending to Dance is an interesting book, I struggled to connect, but it was nice all the same. I've actually not heard of Revenge so I can't compare.

  2. Wow! A whole ereader full of books. That's fantastic. You have a good time in Dublin!

Feature and Follow (29 May)

The Feature & Follow is hosted by TWO hosts, Parajunkee of  Parajunkee’s View  and Alison of  Alison Can Read . Each host will have their own Feature Blog and this way it’ll allow us to show off more new blogs! I'm one of the featured blogs this week! Along with Amanda of  The Darling Bookworm . This week’s Question: How many books have you got on your TBR list? I recently had a bit of a cull of my TBR list so now it is sitting at 269. I'm trying my hardest to get it below 200 by the end of the year but I really don't see it happening. I'd currently be happy if I managed to get it below 225. However, I did recently have a look through my TBR on Goodreads and deleted a few books that I don't think I will actually ever read - I'm not even to sure how they got there anyway.
