Top Ten Tuesday: Authors I Really Want To Meet

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and The Bookish.  This week's topic is the top ten authors I really want to meet.  There is so many authors out there that I would love to meet so it's been hard to narrow it down to ten.

Michael Crichton
Michael Crichton - Two words: Jurassic Park. Another obsession of mine is dinosaurs - I will watch/read anything about dinosaurs. Michael Crichton wrote two books about dinosaurs so there was no way that he would not make it onto this list.

 J.R.R. Tolkien
J.R.R. Tolkien - He created Middle earth people! Too come up with so many characters/places etc is amazing! And he didn't even write it down to begin with... I barely manage to remember what I had for breakfast never mind a whole world!

 William Goldman
William Goldman - As you have probably seen me mention before I love The Princess Bride.  It's one of my all time favourites. I have so many fond memories of the book and the movie. Of course William Goldman would be on this list.

 Meg Cabot
Meg Cabot - I was obsessed with her books during my early teenage years. I would purely like to thank her.

Jacqueline Wilson
Jacqueline Wilson - As above.

 Harper Lee
Harper Lee - I read To Kill A Mockingbird at school, I didn't like it then. But then I read it again a few years later and I loved it. It's just so thought-provoking! I can't wait to read Go Set a Watchman either.

 Roald Dahl
Roald Dahl - Along the same lines as Meg Cabot and Jacqueline Wilson.  I read so many of his books during my childhood. In school we were always reading on of his books or watching an adaptation.
 Philip Pullman
Phillip Pullman - Again another childhood favourite... I'm sensing a slight trend here...

Stephen Fry
Stephen Fry - I cheat... I've not actually read any of his books yet. But he is absolutely amazing and has such vast knowledge that I can't wait to get my hand on one of his books.

    1. I limited myself to living authors so Roald Dahl wasn't on mine but he is one of my favourite authors. JK Rowling was in my list too. I absolutely loved Jacqueline Wilson's books when I was a younger teenager, so I would like to meet her for the same reasons as you. Meg Cabot is also a good one, although she wasn't on my list.

    3. What a depressing moment in your current read. I hope no one dies of boredom or something equally tragic! ;) My TT
Rowling, Tolkin, and Fry would probably make my list as well. ;)

      1. I'm not actually sure what it is that he has with him. It's definitely not a dog - it hatched from an egg. But I will never know, I just couldn't get into the story so it was a DNF

    10. It would be awesome to meet Harper Lee. I hadn't thought about adding her to my post this week. I look forward to reading her new book later this year.
