COYER Blackout Winter Storm 2016-2017

wintercoyer-16-17signup

After completely missing the summer COYER this year, I decided that I definitely need to do the winter one.

COYER is run by Berls @ Fantasy is More Fun, Michelle @ Because Reading and Stormi @ Books, Movies, Reviews! Oh My! and this winter COYER is going to be a 12 week Blackout from 17 December to 3 March. The challenge this time round is that only ebooks you have already acquired before the challenge start date count. And to make it even harder, these books have to have been acquired for less than $1.00. However, to make it slightly easier, for every ten ebooks (over 100 pages) read you can read any one book you want. To sign up by 17 December, follow the COYER link at the start of this paragraph.

I'm definitely going to use this COYER to help increase my Netgalley ratio that bit more. It's just what I'm needing to be honest! I'm not going to set myself a solid goal, but I'll be happy if I can read at least 10 books this COYER. I'm also hoping I can keep up with the Facebook fun and take part in my first Twitter party!

I will also keep track of all books read below:

Top Ten Tuesday: Characters I'd Love to Check in With

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by  The Broke and The Bookish .  This week's topic is the top ten characters you'd like to check in with.  I really struggled with this one, my brain just went blank and I couldn't really think of anyone besides pretty obvious choices.

Discussion: The Problem With My Local Library

I used to use my local library all the time when I was in school.  Source I even spent every lunchtime in my school's library. My friends and I were pupil librarians and we practically had the run of the whole library. And then, when I started University, the only library I had time for was the University library. And that wasn't an enjoyable experience. However, last summer I started going to my local library again. (I then had to stop again when I got my job.) And unfortunately, I was pretty disappointed.  Source The availability sucks. I can deal with books I want that are already out on loan. It's the complete lack of decent books the library has on its system that gets to me. All those months I went to the library last year and I never left with a book that was already on my TBR. I walked around that place looking at my Goodreads trying to find any book on that list. And I couldn't find any at all (except for the Classics). To be honest, I ...
